This is my personal blog I plan on cleaning it up in the near future and keeping a semi-detailed explanation of everything I do for every project.

Motor Part Replacment
As stated earlier the part of the motor that attaches the prop to the shaft was broken on one of the motor parts. As such they all needed to be replaced to ensure that weight is properly balanced. When the parts were ordered there was an issue, they did not fit into the shaft even though they were advertised as they would. After some machining they are now attached and should be working fine. However, they are much heavier/larger than the original parts they appear to be meant more for jets/planes rather than quads. I'm not the guy who fixed this issue so I don't know the exact details on how it was fixed but as usual this will be in the final report/manual. On a plus side there is a backup/ideal plan for this that will hopefully make the problem a lot easier to solve. Two of the motors we are using have a grinding noise when spinning the motors it seems to be a serious issue and has been there since we original got the motors. Tonight I will be calling hobbyking and hoping to have the motors replaced without having to send them back this is only being requested due to the long ship time and the fact that it is a student project. Assuming they go through with the offer we will now have 4 of the original shaft to prop attaching pieces and won't have to go with the newer version. Incase anyone needs to do a similar operation it is important to know that the phone number is 1-800-607-5803 and they are open 9am-5pm hong kong time. A bit frustrating being on the east coast where the time we get is 9pm-5am but you work with what you can hopefully they will replace our motors and as such we can continue effectively.
